Upcycled Vanity

I picked this vanity up off of Craigslist a couple of months ago and have been putting off doing anything with it.  It had the worst paint job I have ever seen.  There were drips and globs galore, even long strands of hair stuck in the paint job. YUK!

You can’t really see how bad the paint is but trust me it was.  I tried sanding it but the paint just wouldn’t give. So I started stripping it using Citristrip. You can check out the video below on how to do that as well. Feel free to follow me on my youtube channel as well.

Here she is all cleaned up. I added one more layer of citristrip and then sanded the whole piece.

received a lot of questions about what I used underneath.  I used wrapping paper! I used DIY version of modge podge using PVA glue to apply it.

Aren’t the knobs so dreamy and lovely?  They were probably the most expensive thing about this project at $10.00 a pop before my 50% off coupon at Hobby Lobby.  That’s $20.00 on just knobs! Yikes.  I couldn’t pass them up.   Please feel free to pin away and share this beauty.  She was A LOT of work but I think she turned out pretty well.  What do you think?

I want to thank everyone that has liked and shared my facebook page as well as left comments on this image there.  I have been overwhelmed by all the love you guys have sent my way.

Thank you,

Stephanie
